Fun game.

This is a nice and simple game. A very well organized name-that-Pokemon game. Nice music choices, and the visuals were appealing.

Also, while I was playing, I really liked the fact where you accounted for Pokemon name misspellings. Polywag is actually Poliwag, for example. That was just a little detail I noticed that I just REALLY enjoyed for some reason.

Incredible game.

You know? When I started this game, I automatically thought "ripoff."

Test chambers? Portal.
Unknown, mysterious speaker? Portal.
Interesting invention being tested? Portal.
Creepy atmosphere? Portal.

But then I got to the part where the ceiling collapses, and someone else was talking to me. There was a shift of attitude, and then that BAD-A MUSIC STARTED PLAYING!, and then I realized off the bat that I gave this game way too much discredit.

And, really, this has been done before, also. Someone ELSE unknown interfering with the test, but this person is the good guy? The concept's been done before.

But the music--that's what did it for me. When this story concept is being done, the main character is always struggling to survive the test, and the attitude is always morbid. But, man, when that music started playing. Instead, this game turned into a journey. You had hope--you could do this!

But enough about that, how about actually playing the game?

The gameplay is also brilliant. It's an action puzzle game, I'd like to call it, because in many of the rooms you need to have a certain skill level, but you also have to find out HOW to beat it in the first place. Each room provides fresh, new challenges that don't just over-complicate past test chambers.

And I really liked the feature of letting you skip the room. I REALLY wanted to find out what happened, but I was just completely stumped on the last room. Eager to find the ending, I skipped it. Great way to avoid frustrating players.

Anyways, this game is just great. Everything you incorporated in it--music, dialog, gameplay, visuals--added to the game to create a fresh and original story and rewarding and enjoyable gameplay.

Incredible game!

This game is absolutely amazing. I love it.

I love these kinds of games-simple and fun. But even though the game is only a top-down shooter, each level is different and refreshing. Each new enemy in each different level consists of different methods of attacking, and you have to deal with a different method of dodging. It never gets repetitive.

And I must say, the challenge in this game is just right. I managed to get S rank on lots of levels, but it's so intense! Squeezing your way through that tiiiny amount of space...it's so fun and challenging.

I like the music you picked out. And as always, I love your style of anime-ish art.

Also, something else that I have to point out...the game doesn't lag for me. My computer is a complete piece of crap, but with the quality settings set to low I managed a stable and decent frame rate. 8D

Oftentimes in most games, even with the quality set to low, the game runs at <10 FPS.

And one last thing...this game really reminds me of that Touhou game or whatever game that was in the "Hardest Video Game Boss" Youtube vid. I think you were clearly looking for your game to be like it, but fortunately I've never played Touhou before, so I don't have some bias against this game. xD

Ten thumbs up. :) I love it.

Repetetive and tedious.

First of all, I looked at some of the reviews and the responses, and you seem kind of...how should I put this...butthurt. Kind of.

Super Meat Boy is similar to this game in that a large part of it is trial and error. You play. You die. You learn. You die. You learn. You die. You learn. You beat. But what's different is, that in this game you play. You die. You learn. You die. You learn. You die. You die. You die. You die. You beat.

First off, Super Meat Boy. It is a VERY fast paced game (at least that's how I play. Hardly do I ever let go of the dash button). Not only is it fast paced, but dying and retrying takes no time at all. Each death, you might learn something you can do to avoid that missile, or a new place where you can stand to not die from that buzzsaw. This is all a very quick process. Also, the sense of accomplishment you get is much more quickly delivered in SMB. Each level is short and sweet, and when you beat it, you feel good.

Now, this game, is only one, long level. You learn everything quickly, what to do to avoid attacks, but there isn't a lot to learn to begin with, and you just repeat what you do if you die. Because of this, if you make a stupid mistake, then you have to repeat ALL your progress on the boss, and do the same thing over and over again.

Now, even with all this, this game isn't actually that bad. A lot of are small details. It's not THAT long, and, well, if you be careful, then you can beat it. Dying is pretty frustrating, though. I honestly just wanted to quit when I died one time. I started typing this review, and gave it a 6, but before I typed the whole thing up, I gave it one more chance. Died only once after that, and beat the game. It's not that bad.

It's a simple concept, seen in many other games, but it's delivered well. The music isn't ear grinding, and the visuals are pretty appealing. This is good work in a short amount of time.

Good game! I enjoyed it.

I like this game a lot!

Although it's just a simple bottom-top shooter, kind of, it's unique and different in its own way. The way you attack and set traps is a unique concept, and all. And throwing in the classic upgrade system is a plus.

Also, I liked that you can keep your upgrades even after taking a break. It's fun dominating the first wave with a mallet. xD

The music really sets the atmosphere, creepy and mysterious. I like it, it adds a lot. Same for the sound, the monster grunts and moans make them seem more inhuman and grotesque. The animation and drawing is also very good. When you die, it really feels like they're on you.

And also, I don't mention this a lot in my reviews, but I liked the story! Very very nice on that. Creative.

This game is great. Has many things a player needs to enjoy.

So what is this? The bajjillionth time?

This has been done like so many times.

Delete cookies. Incognito. The way you address it in your description even makes me more satisfied that there are such easy bypasses.

This "no-replay" thing, along with it being done SO many times, IT DOESN'T FUCKING FIT AT ALL IN THIS GAME (mind you, don't misunderstand me, if a game works with this element in, then by all means, leave it be).

You know what people do? They overcomplicate things, try to add so much depth to things. They try to...make things seems complex! or...deep! Right, cut the bullshit. I don't PLAY GAMES to think deeply about things, I fucking play video games to entertain myself. If I wanted to think deeply I'd read a poem.

This is a video game. People want to see everything, play the game's heart out, experience the fullness, I don't know how to word it. So if I want to replay this damn game to get all the endings, LET ME REPLAY IT.

Now, the way you think this concept is creative ('cause it's not) and how there's no replay button (which is stupid) aren't the only things making me mad.

This is a game with multiple endings, and events in the middle of it. Which adds good replay value...so naturally...you'd replay it. But this isn't FUN. First of all, is it just me, or do games like this make the main character walk reeaaallly reallly slow? Yeah, he walks like a fucking mile per hour. This pissed me off so much because that's like artificially extending the game. It made me feel like I was WASTING SO MUCH TIME.

And that's that. Pissed me off. Felt like I wasted time. I think you can tell that, for the most part, I did not enjoy this game. Let me tell you, players don't like to be frustrated.

Nice game!

Liked it, beat it, ended satisfied. Very good game. Unique concept and neat artwork.

Only thing I didn't like, though, were the tight squeezes. One level there was a part where you were in mid-air, and you had to propel yourself through a space of one tile, and it was surrounded by death lines. It's hard to explain, but you probably know what I'm talking about. It's quite hard to get through a squeeze like that. There were some other parts that bugged me as well, but still, it was all do-able.

Actually, in fact, this is quite a nice mix. The difficulty really works out well. Overall, I didn't have a lot of trouble on this game, but I still got stuck on some parts. It didn't frustrate me at all, though. And that's good! A good game is fun, not tedious. The parts where I did get stuck on, I'd have to blame a little on the controls and how the characters move. That tight squeeze? Very hard. But, this mix of sketchy controls and easy, straightforward goal actually works out quite well .

And I must say, the music probably did a lot to the game. I probably don't know it, but the calming music might have done a lot to keep me from frustration.

I really liked this game. There's probably more in my mind that I wanna say, but I dunno what they are. Heh.

Okay...this is my review.

Mixed feelings about this game. Although, for the most part, I can say I did not enjoy this game. But there are a lot of factors that contribute to that.

Okay, first off, honestly, it's not THAT hard. In fact, it's actually kind of easy. I figured it out. The only way you can win is if you abuse the pause feature. Like, I'm serious. Abuse the fuck out of it. Pause just to move your mouse to click on a cat corpse, pause just to get your mind ready to pull the rock. If you compare the time un-paused to paused at the end of the game, paused time would probably be greater. It's the ONLY way to win. In fact, it's probably the way the game was intended to play as. But many people probably won't catch this or think of this. I didn't either, at the beginning, and I died on like the fourth wave. This doesn't look good in hooking any players.

Now, at around wave...maybe ten or so, my computer had it's daily...scan, or something. I don't know how to stop it. But after that occurs, it'll stay laggy until a restart (it doesn't have to do with my antivirus program, I've tried that). So, I lagged a lot during the game. That's...pretty bad. So I lagged throughout most of the game. Which I thoroughly did NOT enjoy. I didn't want to restart my computer just to replay this game, 'cause really I didn't feel like it was worth it.

Now, that's out of the way, I can honestly say...probably without the lag...I would've had fun with this game. I would have. I really don't know why, since the playing process would seem so boringly dull.

The sound in the game was good and high quality, enjoyed that. Not much so much on the animation part, so overall, execution could've been improved.

And...that's that. Game's not that good. Concept was boring...a plain old top-down shooter that really doesn't have any special catch to it. Tedious gameplay (and yet FUN gameplay). Execution is fair. That's all I can say.

Haha, nice.

Nice little funny and enjoyable game. :P

Also, just testing.

Make him jump higher.

On my first playthrough, at least 50% of the time I used was wasted, because the person couldn't jump high enough, therefore I thought getting those dots was impossible, and were left for your later evolutions.

This is a big problem, actually. To collect those dots, you literally need to stand until one pixel of your leg is left on the platform, then you jump to collect a dot.

This isn't adding "hardness" to the game, a game like this where you just collect things is not supposed to be hard, it's the easiest thing to do. The only thing you're doing is just making it fucking impossible. Either do one or the other:

1. Extend platforms or elevate them so jumping and collecting dots is possible or
2. Make the person jump higher.

Other then that, I enjoyed playing this game, albeit it being a bit frustrating. I thought the concept was unique, and I can't say I got tired of the music even though I played through the game three times (thank goodness for the invisible timer being frame-based...) through.
